CWI Joins The Ranks of Outback Steakhouse's `Purveyor of the Decade' Elite

Westchester County, N.Y.—Corporate Wellness, Inc. (CWI) was awarded OSI Restaurant Partners’ coveted 2007 Purveyor of the Decade award recently.

“Our involvement with Roslyn Stone and her team has been nothing short of phenomenal,” said Paul Avery, OSI chief operating officer of the Tampa, Fla.-based casual-dining giant. “Their proactive approach to issues has kept our company well informed and protected our business.

“While we don’t want to have to interact with Corporate Wellness because it means we have a concern,” he states. “If we have to, however, everyone on their team participates.

“We recognize suppliers at our annual management conference that go above and beyond the level of service required,” stated Avery. The gathering gives invited purveyors an opportunity to interact with OSI team members, learn from industry pundits, attend social events and take in local attractions.

The highlight of this year’s meeting, which was held in Orlando, Fla., from March 29 to April 2, was the awarding of the prestigious Purveyor of the Decade award to Corporate Wellness in appreciation for helping OSI achieve its business goals. “There aren’t many organizations that bestow that honor,” observed Avery.

RESPECTED CONSULTANT

The partnership began in 1992 when Corporate Wellness engineered a program to administer flu shots to Outback employees. At that time Outback—currently celebrating its 20th anniversary—had fewer than 100 restaurants. Since that time CWI has evolved into a highly respected consultant advising on foodborne illness and health issues and the Australian-themed steakhouse numbers have swelled to more than 968 locations.

“We share the same philosophies in terms of the priority of food safety and taking care of our customers and employees,” said Joseph Kadow, OSI executive vice president.

“OSI brings out the best in us,” said CWI’s COO Roslyn Stone. “They set the bar for the other clients that we partner with.” She also points out that Avery and his staff never hesitate to pick up the phone or send an e-mail to say “thank you” or “good job.”

THREE STRATEGIC AREAS

Corporate Wellness advises OSI on the three strategic areas of medical crisis prevention, medical crisis management and business continuity planning.

CWI oversees all eight OSI brands, which include, in addition to Outback, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Roy’s, Lee Roy Selmon’s, Cheeseburger in Paradise and Blue Coral Seafood & Spirits. OSI operates in all 50 states and the Outback brand can be found in 21 countries around the world.

“Our relationship with CWI continues to grow over the years to one of trust and confidence,” notes Avery. OSI once again honored Corporate Wellness for the ninth consecutive time by acknowledging it as Purveyor of the Year. Other industry notables to have received this impressive award include Anheuser-Busch, The Coca-Cola Company, CorVirtus and Diageo.

“Just because a company receives the Purveyor of the Year award numerous times, however, doesn’t mean that they’re going to make Purveyor of the Decade,” observes Kadow. It is given to a select few who are proactive in what they do having gone above and beyond what is required of them. Cargill, Standard Meats and Wachovia are among a handful of companies that have been named Purveyor of the Decade.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY

“Corporate Wellness has the same commitment to quality that we share,” said Kadow. “They’ve taken the time to understand the culture of our company—what we believe in,” he adds.

“We are very proud of what they do and fortunate to have them as a partner,” states Avery. “We are looking forward to a long relationship.”
